Microsoft Teams Meeting Reminder for Mac
Microsoft Teams meetings tend to come in rows: a stand-up, a client call, a review, often back to back. The Teams and Outlook notifications on a Mac are small and disappear after a few seconds. If you’re in the middle of something, you notice them too late or not at all.
Final Call is a meeting reminder for Mac that takes over the screen just before each Teams meeting, shows a countdown and opens the call in the Teams app with one click.
What you get
Full-screen reminder with countdown. Shortly before the meeting, a reminder covers your screen, also over full-screen apps. At the start time it turns red and shakes, and it stays until you join, snooze or dismiss it.
One-click join in the Teams app. Final Call detects the Teams link in the calendar event and opens it in the Microsoft Teams app. If the app is missing, the link opens in your browser. Links from teams.microsoft.com and from personal Teams (teams.live.com) are detected.
Menu bar and notch. The menu bar icon always shows the time to your next meeting, and one click opens your agenda for the day. On a MacBook, the notch can show your next Teams call too.
Back-to-back meetings. During a running video meeting you can hold back new reminders; they appear as soon as the meeting ends. A progress bar shows how much of the current meeting is left.
Ready for the call. The reminder can show your camera image and microphone level before you join, and Apple Music and Spotify pause automatically.
Teams meetings from Outlook and Microsoft 365
Final Call reads the macOS Calendar app. Add your work account under System Settings → Internet Accounts → Microsoft Exchange and your Outlook / Microsoft 365 calendar, including all Teams meetings, appears in Final Call. No Microsoft login inside Final Call is needed, and your calendar data stays on your Mac.
Some companies don’t allow work accounts in the macOS Calendar app. In that case Final Call can’t see those meetings. Check with your IT team if the account can’t be added. More on Outlook: Outlook calendar reminders on Mac.
Teams notifications vs. Final Call
Teams and Outlook show a notification or a reminder window, which is fine when you’re looking at the screen. Final Call is for the moments you aren’t: when you’re writing, coding or presenting in full screen. It also works the same way for Zoom, Google Meet, Webex and 14 other services, so you get one consistent reminder for every call.
