Zoom Meeting Reminder for Mac
A Zoom invite in your calendar, a small notification five minutes before, and then you look up and the meeting started three minutes ago. If that sounds familiar, the problem isn’t your calendar. It’s that a notification on the Mac is easy to swipe away when you’re focused.
Final Call is a meeting reminder for Mac that makes sure you notice your Zoom calls. Just before a meeting starts, it fills your screen with a countdown, the meeting title and a Join button that opens the call directly in the Zoom app.
How Final Call reminds you of Zoom meetings
Full-screen reminder. Shortly before the start, a reminder covers your screen, even if you’re working in a full-screen app. You decide how early: at the start time or 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes before, or at the alert time of the calendar event.
Countdown. The reminder shows exactly how much time you have left. At the start time it turns red and shakes. It stays until you join, snooze or dismiss it.
Snooze. Need two more minutes? Snooze for 3 or 5 minutes, or until the meeting starts.
Camera and mic check. Before you join, the reminder can show your camera image and microphone level. No more “can you hear me?” in the first minute. Both are optional, and nothing is recorded.
One click into the Zoom app
Final Call finds the Zoom link in your calendar event, in the location field or in the notes. Click Join (or use your keyboard shortcut) and the meeting opens directly in the Zoom desktop app, including the passcode from the link. If the Zoom app isn’t installed, the link opens in your browser instead. Links from zoom.us and ZoomGov are detected.
Apple Music and Spotify pause automatically when you join, so you don’t enter the call with music playing.
Which calendars work
Final Call reads the macOS Calendar app. Zoom meetings from Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Exchange or iCloud show up as soon as the account is added under System Settings → Internet Accounts. Your calendar data stays on your Mac.
Zoom’s own reminders vs. Final Call
The Zoom app can show a small notification before upcoming meetings if you connect your calendar to Zoom. That works, but it’s a small window in the corner, like any other notification. Final Call is built for the moment you’re deep in work: it takes over the screen, shows a countdown, and gets you into the call with one click. It also covers your Teams, Google Meet and other calls in the same way, so you have one reminder for everything. See also: Teams meeting reminder and Google Meet reminder.
